Karina+Kind is the home studio of Karina on the Sunshine Coast of Australia where she creates special and uniquely bright art fabrics with a focus on natural, organic fabric bases including 100% cottons and linens. An Australian fabric shop, her iconic brand is growing into a favourite of the sewing community both here and worldwide.

BEGINNINGS
"I started designing repeat patterns in 2018 when I was waiting for my first daughter to fall asleep at night. We used to sit at her bedroom door and read or I would draw until she fell asleep!"
MOTIVATION
"In late 2022 I began Karina+Kind with a focus on bright collage style florals which seems to be my signature style and I’ve been motivated ever since because its like Art Therapy for me. During my recent 3rd pregnancy I was very aware that post-natal depression was very real for me so Karina+Kind kept me going."
INSPIRATION
"I don't actually have a degree in arts or design! I grew up in a small country town with the beach and the forest and a farm with cows where I loved to explore. I was also lucky enough to live in the countryside of Norway in 2009 in a small place called Hvalstad with amazing fields, lakes and forest walks and all of the Scandinavian design I encountered really influenced me too."
